Material Landing
When moving from Brooklyn, NY to Charlottesville, VA in 2006, I brought 50lbs of stone, 50lbs of wood, and 50lbs of clay with me. I weigh about 150lbs. The first project I gave myself in my new studio was to re-ground this material that I brought with me. My aim was to explore and expand the moment of arrival in a new place through an exchange of material.
